A CONVERSATION WITH A SENIOR EDITOR

Albert Hoffstadt, a senior editor at Brill, will answer questions and discuss scholarly publishing in general.

He will comment on these and your other general questions about publishing:

Preliminary stages in publication: how should a new researcher present her work to a press? Should the young scholar begin discussions with editors before a project is completed, or only after it is ready to send off?

Will the increasing digitization of scholarly work (or online publication) affect the academic publication business?

What are the prospects for finding editorial and other positions in academic publishing--in Europe or elsewhere?

Faculty and students of all departments and programs are welcome.  Although Hoffstadt specializes in scholarly work on Asian topics, Brill’s range of publications is very great, including Art History, Book History, Middle East and Islamic Studies, and Religious Studies.
