Ginger Marcus, professor of the practice of Japanese language, retires at the end of spring 2022. Marcus, who joined WashU when EALC was still known as the department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages and Literatures, has taught Japanese language for 71 semesters and has made a lasting impact on thousands of students of Japanese. EALC faculty and students recently celebrated her career and wish her well in retirement.
