Jade Huang graduated in 2016 from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan with a master of arts degree in Social Research and Cultural Studies.

Her research focuses on the East Asian geopolitics in the post-Cold War era. Jade endeavors to develop new analytical frameworks in studying authoritarianism and bio-politics, especially how these social controls shaped people's narrations and memories in literature and films. She is currently conducting a transnational study of totalitarianism in national crises and massacres among mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.

Jade also writes poems and essays.
