Kuni Homma teaches Japanese language.
Kunihiko Homma holds an M.A. in Japanese Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His research focuses on Japanese sociolinguistics, particularly the ideologies embedded in Japanese society and the ways individuals engage in language practices in everyday life. Before joining WashU, he taught Japanese at various levels at UC San Diego, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, UCLA, the International Christian University in Japan, and other institutions. Through his teaching, he aims to help students recognize their connections to society and to the people within it, and he enjoys fostering these connections while engaging in mutual learning with his students.
